OHIP Standard Request Timeline

This article will discuss the standard timeline and follow up procedure when requesting for clinical notes and records (CNR) from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (OHIP).
 

Please kindly refer to the guidelines when inquiring about the status of an outstanding record request from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (OHIP);

 


Day 1 - 2 - Submission of Third Party Disclosure Request to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.

Day 2 to 45 - No written nor verbal follow up is completed to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. The Ministry of Health and Long Term generally fulfills requests for health information within 30 to 45 business days.

Day 45 - Day 46 - Upon passing of 45 days; if the request continues to be outstanding, we will proceed with a written follow up schedule. Written reminders will be sent out every 15 days to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.
Day 60 - Written follow up reminder

Day 75 - Written follow up reminder

Day 90 - Written follow up reminder
